Professional Deck & Fence Cleaning for Richmond Homes

A weathered deck is a tempting weekend project. A borrowed pressure washer at full pressure can carve raised grain into pine and pressure-treated lumber faster than most homeowners realize. We get those calls every summer. By then, the repair bill has gone up.

Wood is soft, and we tune the pressure to the species. Cedar gets a lighter touch than pressure-treated. Fence pickets get a different setting than deck boards. The cleaning solution does most of the work, and what comes off the wood is sixteen years of gray weathering, mildew, and trapped algae. What’s left underneath is the grain.

Three options are available. Cleaning runs with a wood-safe detergent and pressure tuned to the substrate. Clean-and-stain bundles a wash on day one with a sealant pass on day two. Most homeowners go this route. Full restoration brings decks back from what looks like the end of the line: damaged boards replaced, railings reseated, soft sections rebuilt. A surprising number of decks aren’t past the point of return.

Every house wash includes a complementary rinse of the attached deck. Send a few photos by call, text, or email and we’ll come back with an honest read on what your wood actually needs.
